About Union, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The home rule-class city of Union is located in Boone County, Kentucky. As of 2010, the population was roughly 5,400 residents, and much of this population resulted from residential growth of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Today, Union is a highly-educated, family-oriented community, and over 98% of adult residents have earned at least a high school diploma. There are many neighborhoods available in the community, including Harmony, Hampshire, Lassing Green, and Lancashire, and notable residents of Union include golfer Steve Flesch and Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson.

Despite the modest size of Union, there are still some interesting things to see and do in the city. Outdoor recreation is especially popular in the area, with destinations like Big Bones Lick State Historic Site, Boone County Aboretum and Butterfly Garden, and Potter’s Ranch. After a long day outdoors, many adult visitors enjoy relaxing with a cold beverage at Fowler Creek Tavern or Side Pocket Beer and Pool Lounge. Those who think a home-cooked meal sounds like a better idea might prefer a trip to Jane’s Saddlebag, Flipdaddy’s Burgers & Beer, or Smokin’ This and That BBQ.

Found in a transitional area between humid continental and humid subtropical zones, there are many things to consider in terms of weather in Union:

  • Hot and humid summers. Temperatures often reach well into the 90s, and significant rainfall adds to the muggy conditions. The right central air conditioner can dramatically improve indoor comfort level throughout the season.
  • Thunderstorms. During the warmer months, severe thunderstorms are common. Tornadoes are also not out of the question, although they are not common.
  • Snowy, cold winters. The winter months here are cold and snowy, and average temperatures in January stay below freezing. The region sees about 22 inches of snowfall each year.

An experienced HVAC professional can prepare you for any Union weather conditions with the right climate controls.
